On Saturday, April 25, 2026, alumni of the Faculty of Economics, Jayabaya University, Class of 1979, gathered at Hotel Ambhara in South Jakarta for a heartfelt Halal Bihalal event. From 11 AM to 3 PM, around 75 attendees came together in a warm, joyful, and meaningful atmosphere.
The event was filled with laughter and reconnection, as old friends reunited and shared stories from decades past. Smiles were everywhere, reflecting bonds that have stood the test of time.
The celebration was further elevated by abundant and delicious culinary offerings, complemented by an elegantly arranged venue that created a comfortable and inviting ambiance. The lively program featured a solo organ performance, quizzes, fun games, line dancing, and became even more exciting with a polonaise joined enthusiastically by all participants. The energy in the room was vibrant and uplifting.
At the heart of the event were also emotional moments. An obituary segment honored fellow alumni who had passed away, while a video montage of past activities brought back cherished memories through powerful visual storytelling.
Committee Chairman Djoko Sumartanto shared the spirit behind the event:
“We simply wanted to create a space where we could reconnect, relive our memories, and strengthen the bonds we’ve built over decades. Seeing everyone happy today makes all the hard work truly worthwhile.”
Adding to the meaningful occasion, Alumni Chairwoman Yuniati expressed her appreciation to the committee and all attendees for their contribution to the success of the event. In her remarks, she also conveyed her hope that the upcoming “healing trip” to Garut, West Java, planned for May, would further strengthen the sense of togetherness and deepen the bonds among the alumni.
Participant Lingka also expressed her appreciation:
“Endless gratitude for the successful HBH FEUJ 79 event today. Salute and bravo to all of us.”
As the gathering came to a close, Djoko added a hopeful message:
“May this not be our last meeting. Let’s continue creating meaningful moments together, bringing happiness and value to one another.”
Ultimately, the event was more than just a reunion—it was a celebration of enduring friendship, unity, and shared history. A reminder that time may pass, but true connection remains.
