In commemoration of National Awakening Day 2026, the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection together with the Ministry of Culture organized the “Joint Pledge to Rise Against Violence Toward Women and Children #IRefuseToBeAVictim and RefuseToBeAPerpetrator” at the Museum Kebangkitan Nasional on Wednesday (May 20, 2026).
The event received strong support and active participation from Alumni SMA Jakarta Bersatu. ASJB was represented by members of its central board and regional coordinators, reflecting the organization’s collective commitment to supporting national humanitarian and social initiatives.
Among the ASJB representatives attending the event were Poppy from the ASJB Central Board, Rita as Head of Bekasi Regional Coordinator, Intan Napitupulu as Secretary of East Jakarta Regional Coordinator, and Genta as Head of South Jakarta Regional Coordinator. Their presence demonstrated the strong solidarity and active involvement of ASJB members in promoting awareness against violence toward women and children.
The gathering highlighted unity and social awareness as participants collectively declared their commitment to rejecting all forms of violence, bullying, harassment, and discrimination against women, children, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.
During the event, Sinta Nuriyah Abdurrahman Wahid encouraged the public to make National Awakening Day a meaningful turning point in strengthening collective action against violence and injustice. She emphasized that protecting future generations is a shared responsibility for all Indonesians.
The pledge ceremony was led by Ibu Sinta Nuriyah alongside Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection Arifatul Choiri Fauzi and Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno.
Several national figures also attended the event, including Badikenita Br. Sitepu, Ni Luh Puspa, Isyana Bagoes Oka, and Gugun Gumilar.
Ratna Darmawan, one of the ASJB participants, stated that the event inspired participants to unite in supporting the anti-violence declaration while also enjoying an educational visit to the Museum of National Awakening.
Through its active participation, ASJB reaffirmed its commitment to promoting humanity, solidarity, and social responsibility in support of a safer and more compassionate society.
