The Alumni SMA Jakarta Bersatu (ASJB) Easter Celebration, held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Grha Besuki, Menteng, Central Jakarta, was both solemn and festive. Carrying the theme “Christ’s Resurrection Renewing Our Humanity,” the event beautifully combined spiritual reflection with joyful togetherness.
The celebration began with a worship service led by Pastor Evert Loupatty. In his sermon, he invited participants to reflect on the true meaning of Easter—embracing renewal and transformation. Quoting 2 Corinthians 5:17, he reminded everyone that “the old has gone, the new has come,” encouraging all to rise together with Christ into a renewed life.
In her welcoming speech, the Chairperson of the Committee, Susi, expressed her happiness and gratitude for the successful of the event. She highlighted that the Easter celebration was both solemn and joyful, and even more special as it marked the very first Easter celebration within the ASJB community. She also conveyed her sincere appreciation for the strong support from the central board and all regional coordinators who contributed to making the event a success.
The festivity was further enlivened by an Easter egg decorating competition and a gift exchange session among participants. Adding to the excitement, all attendees received a lovely ASJB-branded mug as a token of appreciation. The joyful atmosphere was also enriched by abundant delicious food and a beautifully arranged venue, creating a warm and welcoming environment. The celebration became even more lively with a fun polonaise dance involving all participants, followed by heartfelt appreciation from the organizing committee to all attendees.
In the competition, Evie Hartati won first place, followed by Aloysius Sardoko as second place and Liana Darmawan as third place, with several others receiving honorable mentions.
The event was attended by ASJB central board members, including Secretary General A. Teguh Ruswono, Head of Program Poppy, and Head of Institutional Affairs Nia Syarifudin. In her remarks, Nia highlighted the importance of interfaith tolerance. She pointed out how non-Christian members attended and supported the Easter celebration, just as Christian members actively participate and fully support ASJB’s Halal Bihalal events—demonstrating a true spirit of unity in diversity.
An inspiring moment also came from the Kebaya community, represented by Mrs. Berti, who invited ASJB members to collaborate in dance activities—bringing positive vibes and fresh energy into the community.
Overall, the ASJB Easter celebration was not only a religious observance but also a meaningful gathering that strengthened friendship, unity, and a shared spirit of renewal.
