JAKARTA — The spirit of togetherness during the holy month of Ramadan was warmly felt as members of Alumni SMA Jakarta Bersatu (ASJB) South Jakarta Regional Chapter gathered for a communal iftar and charity activity on Friday (March 13, 2026).
The event took place at Bebek Kaleyo Cilandak and combined a friendly alumni gathering with a social initiative to distribute takjil to members of the public in need, particularly motorists who might have to break their fast on the road.
The takjil packages were funded through voluntary contributions from ASJB members, with each package supported by a donation of Rp10,000. The collected funds were then used to prepare and distribute the meals shortly before sunset.
Chairperson of ASJB, Jeni Suryanti, praised the spirit of solidarity among members who continue to uphold the values of friendship and social care within the alumni community.
“For us at Alumni SMA Jakarta Bersatu, this iftar gathering is not merely about sharing a meal. It is about reconnecting, strengthening friendships, and nurturing our sense of brotherhood. Those who attended were not only members living in South Jakarta but also friends from other areas. There is a strong emotional bond among us—one that even Jakarta’s traffic cannot break. Being able to share takjil with motorists who might have to break their fast on the road brings a special sense of happiness to our ASJB South Jakarta members,” she said.
Meanwhile, Head of ASJB South Jakarta Regional Chapter Genta emphasized that the activity reflects the core values of the alumni community.
“For us, this iftar gathering and takjil distribution is not just a routine Ramadan activity. It is about brotherhood and togetherness that we continue to nurture within the Alumni SMA Jakarta Bersatu community. When we can gather and at the same time share with the public, the joy of Ramadan truly multiplies,” Genta said.
A warm and friendly atmosphere filled the evening as members chatted and reconnected while waiting for the call to break the fast. After the takjil distribution, the gathering continued with a communal iftar meal.
Through initiatives like this, ASJB South Jakarta hopes to maintain the spirit of solidarity and social responsibility among its members while also strengthening the role of alumni communities in contributing positively to society.
